“The time is coming for me to gather people together from all over the world, and they will come and gaze on my radiance. 19 I will set an amazing sign among them. I will send some of the remnant to other nations—to Tarshish, Put, Lud (known for its archers), Tubal, Javan, and distant islands that have never heard of my fame nor gazed on my glory. They will declare my glory among the gentiles! 20 And they will bring back from the nations your own people as an offering to me,” says Yahweh. Isaiah 66:18-20
Isaiah paints a beautiful picture of the church, being outwardly focused to the ends of the earth as Jesus mandated His disciples. God is still sending people to far-away places to share God’s love and preach the Gospel message. I think Jim and Vicki Egli, Dan and Brenda Salas, Jack and Sherry Harris, Ryan and Andrea Crozier, people we support to pursue God’s calling described here hundreds of years before Jesus would challenge His disciples. Notice the focus is on Gentiles, which includes anyone who is outside of Judaism. The Gospel is for all people.
When we introduce someone to Jesus we are fulfilling our mission and it becomes an act of love and a wonderful offering to God.
Eventually, Jesus will return to this earth He created and purify it so that people from “every tribe, nation, and tongue” (Rev. 7:9) will come together to worship our King and gaze upon His radiance. This will be a party that will last for eternity.
