This is what Yahweh declares: “The new heavens and the new earth that I am making will remain and endure before me in the same way your offspring and your name will endure. 23 From one Sabbath to the next, one month to the next, one year to the next, all humanity will come to worship me!
24 “They will go out of the city and see the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me. For their worm will not die and their fire will never go out. And they will be abhorrent to humanity.” Isaiah 66:22-24
As Isaiah closes out his book he stays true to his theme of communicating God’s words clearly and forthright. The great contrast between those who are devoted to God and those who reject Him is the message emphaized once again. The choice is clear so man is without excuse. To accept the rulership of God in our lives is to be invited as sons and daughters to live in a new heaven and earth. To ignore God’s offer of eternal salvation means separation from everything good.
Isaiah is a microcosm of the entire Bible and conveys the central message of God creating man in His image for relationship with Himself. Man rebels again and again, and God through His enduring love, provides a means of salvation. This back and forth pursuit and rejection will one day end for each one of us and we will live for eternity with the outcome we chose.
I pray that you see the amazing unconditional love of God and give your life completely to Him. The only requirement is that you come humbly and acknowledge He is the One True God who is worthy of our complete devotion.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I am praying about which book of the Bible to travel next. Hopefully, we’ll connect on that trip as well.
