“The end is near for those who ‘consecrate’ and ‘purify’ themselves to enter their cultic groves! They go in procession one after another into their ceremonies. They eat disgusting foods—pork, mice, and rodents. 18 I despise their evil works and their thoughts,” says Yahweh. Isaiah 66:17-18
It is amazing how God shows love and kindness to humanity and they reject Him again and again. Here Isaiah is being shown the future and the end of man’s time on earth. Future man is in the same place as the earliest humans when it comes to rebellion against God.
The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. Gen. 6:5
This is the period of corruption in the earth just before the great flood in which only Noah and his family were spared. Jesus said men’s hearts would be in the same condition at the time of His return.
For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Matt. 24:37
Every generation of humanity and every individual must choose who we will worship, but in the words of Bob Dylan, “you’re going to serve somebody”.
