04.20.23 – Macro and Micro

Wild beasts, jackals, and owls will glorify me. For I supply streams of water in the desert and rivers in the wilderness to satisfy the thirst of my people, my chosen ones, 21 so that you, whom I have shaped and formed for myself, will proclaim my praise.  Isaiah 43:20-21

Even if we feel like wild beasts instead of the lambs who devotedly follow Jesus, God still provides refreshing streams of grace for us. God is the only one who can satisfy our thirst for meaning and He goes to outsiders who will turn to Him.

After all, He shaped and formed us for His purpose and we will never be fulfilled in life until we follow God and discover that purpose. You will know when you are moving toward that purpose because you begin praising God more and more.

I believe God’s design and direction for us is both macro and micro levels. Macro describes where we are placed and what our roles are in life. This includes marriage, parenting, career and anywhere we have responsibility in leading or influencing others.

The micro level is the everyday listening and obeying God in the small promptings to text, send an email, make a phone call or just stop and pray for someone. It might be to share a word of prophetic encouragement and communicate God’s heart for someone.

Fulfillment comes through following God in the big macro areas and the little micro acts.
