“You lands of the sea, stand silent before me! Let the people renew their strength! Let them approach me and state their case. Let’s come together to decide who is right. Isaiah 41:1
Who achieved all this and made it happen? Who guides the destiny of each generation from the first until now? I am the one! I am Yahweh, the first, the unchanging one who will be there in the end!” Isaiah 41:4
As we have been hearing from Isaiah, there is no end to the wisdom and greatness of God. He guides everything toward His desired end. Man may rebel or be confused and resist God’s plans creating havoc in the world, but God will triumph.
Isaiah tells us to connect with God by stilling ourselves and listening. In silence we sense God’s closeness, we receive His peace, we hear His wisdom, and we renew our strength.
Isn’t it amazing that one of the easiest possible things we could do is also one of the most difficult? Our minds wander, we get distracted and feel this is unproductive. But, it is in humble silence we remember that this is the God who was at the beginning and will be there in the end and is with us at this moment.
