05.01.23 – Pots and Perspective

Shame on the one who argues with his Creator, like one clay pot among other pots arguing with the potter. Should the clay say to the potter, What in the world are you doing with me? Your hands are clumsy?

10 Shame on the one who complains to a father, Why in the world did you conceive me? Or to a mother, Why in the world did you bring me to birth?

11 Listen to what Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, the One who shaped him, has to say: Why do you question me about the destiny of my children or tell me what to do with my children and what I have made? Isaiah 45:9-11

No matter how unfair life seems it is never the result of God failing to love or take care of us. We exist because we were the combined elements of life that joined in our mother’s womb. Out of millions of possibilities God chose us to be born.  And though we all share unique characteristics we all have human limitations of strength and health and understanding.

We were born into a broken world because of sin and live with the consequences every day. At the same time Heaven has come to earth through Jesus inaugurating His Kingdom rulership which will culminate someday in His return.

Until that time we live in anticipation of that Kingdom rule. We believe in the release of God’s power and wisdom that give us a glimpse of Heavens order and beauty. When we pray and see miracles the Kingdom is on display to us and those for whom we intercede.

Rather than questioning God, pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s heart to you. If this is the God we are going to trust with our eternity we should trust Him now for this short life and live as close and connected to God’s presence as possible.
