03.24.23 – Gently Led

He will care for you as a shepherd tends his flock, gathering the weak lambs and taking them in his arms. He carries them close to his heart and gently leads those that have young. Isaiah 40:11

It’s easy to forget that God can be whatever He chooses. He could be a tyrannical despot demanding our sacrifice and servitude. He could be maniacal and just watch us get what we deserve because of our sinfulness. He could be aloof and distant because we have ignored Him.

Instead, Jesus is a gentle Shepherd, the Good Shepherd who carries us in His arms. Even in our rebellion and tendency to get ourselves in trouble, He still pursues us and draws us close to His heart.

If you have children of your own today, pray this promise asking Jesus to gently lead you. I believe God wants to impart wisdom to you in how to love and care for your own. Let Him inspire with words to communicate. Maybe a phone call or text to express your love.

The more we allow God to lead us, the better leaders of others we become.
