02.24.23 – Honest Assessment

Then you will see your idols as they areunclean! Your silver-overlaid idols and gold-plated images are defiled. You will discard them like a filthy menstrual cloth, saying to them, Good riddance!

23 Then God will supply you with abundant rain for the seeds you sow. He will bless you with an incredible, plentiful harvest. And in that day he will give you lush, broad pastures for your cattle. Isaiah 30:22-22

In the previous verses we looked at yesterday, God offers to guide His people with His voice. When we hear and follow His leading, we see the world more clearly. Things in which we’ve placed our trust are shown to be weak or vile and not worth the devotion we have given it.

With fresh clarity, we see the idols to which we’ve sacrificed our time, money, and energy. Something may feel right in the darkness, but when the lights are turned on, we see it for what it truly is.

Following God and getting free from these distractions makes space in our thinking and resource capacity. God can now fill with creativity, peace, and fruitfulness.

We plant the seeds with this newfound time to invest in Gods presence in prayer and worship and listening as the Word of God speaks to us. The results are God pouring into our lives and a harvest naturally follows.
