He will repay wrath to his enemies and retribution to his foes, according to what they have done. Reckoning is coming to the islands for what is due them. 19 From the west to the lands of the rising sun, the glory and the name of Yahweh will be held in highest reverence, for he will break in as a flooding, rushing river driven on by the breath of Yahweh! Isaiah 59:18-19

Someday accounts will be settled and God will reconcile all things. Justice will come for those who have been oppressed. Even a lifetime of suffering will seem but a moment compared to eternity. God will bring judgment to those who rejected Him. He will give them what they desire, separation and isolation from His presence. Only those who exalt Yahweh and pursue Him will spend eternity fulfilling that desire. To those who love Him God will come to their aid like a flood washing away their enemy.

Jesus became that flood who broke into this world to bring God’s Kingdom rule to all who will receive it. He came in the name of His Father, Yahweh, driven by the breath or spirit, representing the Holy Spirit. The Holy Trinity of God came to rescue us and invite us into their perfect union.

When we walk in this union with Jesus the same Holy Spirit that directed and empowered Jesus dwells in us. We are to be conduits of that power to a broken world. Jesus promised that rivers of living water would spring up and overflow from our lives to reveal God’s love (John 7:38).

Prayer: Father, fill us, saturate us with your presence to where we overflow and your love spills out to everyone around us today.
