Life is a Continual Feast?

“For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.” – Proverbs 15:15 NLT

Despondency, a state of low spirits from lost hope or courage, captures the essence of depression, where life is seen through a dark lens, and everything appears threatening.

In contrast, Solomon describes a happy heart as one that experiences life as an endless celebration. This light-hearted view must be based on reality to have any real meaning. That reality is confidence in a perfect Father who loves us unconditionally. The God of all creation who can back up His promises.

“Better to have little, with fear of the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.” – Proverbs 15:16 NLT

The “fear of the Lord” embodies awe for God’s greatness and goodness. Experiencing His love surpasses all worldly treasures.

A “happy heart” may seem like a simplistic answer to our complex mental and emotional challenges. But what if simple trust in an extraordinary God is the key to a better life?

So, let’s embrace the God who is worth celebrating!
