Healing starts with metabolizing trauma

Heal Brain

Metabolize is a verb that means to use chemical processes in the body to break down substances and turn them into energy, new growth, and waste products.

We refer to this process in our bodies and our metabolism. The body changes food into energy. But it is not just food that needs to be metabolized in us. Trauma must also be metabolized in our minds. Trauma left unaddressed transforms into anxiety, fear, isolation, and depression.

A powerful step toward healing is to see that Jesus was with us in the crisis that caused the trauma. He did not abandon us. He was right there when we were being hurt or suffering. He offers comfort in your pain and healing from the lasting effects of past trauma.

We can spend a lifetime asking God why He allowed us to go through rejection, abuse, and wounds that were maybe physical and emotional. Or, we can accept Jesus’ overwhelming love and grace to heal and help us move forward. We live in a broken and are not promised a stress-free life. God can metabolize the pain of the past.

Take your pain and wounds to Jesus today. Let Him pour love and grace over your wounds. This is the way I began my healing journey and you can too.
