“Remember these things, O Jacob’s tribes, and Israel, you are my servant. I created you to be my servant, and I will never forget you!
22 I have swept away your sins like a thick cloud. I have made your guilt to vanish like mist disappearing into thin air. Now come back, come back to me, for I have paid the price for you.”
23 Sing! Starry sky above, break loose with singing, for Yahweh has finished it! Shout! Earth deep below, give up your shout! Mountains high, break out with joyous songs of praise! Let the forest choirs join in, with every tree singing its notes! For Yahweh has paid the ransom price for Jacob’s tribes, and he will be glorified in Israel! Isaiah 44:21-23
These incredible promises of forgiveness, redemption, and acceptance are made both to Israel and to us. God’s character is unchanging. What He has promised in the past holds true for now and for eternity.
There are certainly too many periods of time during the day. God is off my radar screen, yet I am always at the center of His attention. He waits to be wanted. Not for His sake but for ours.
There is nothing in the way of our being close to God He has not removed. No barrier of sin, no requirements of the law, no sacrifice we must make. We simply humble ourselves and come with gratitude.
Isaiah closes with a beautiful picture of all of creation celebrating our ransom has been paid, and we the pinnacle of God’s design are free.
I believe God wants us to out-worship all of creation for what He has done for us.
He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” Luke 19:40
Today, when you hear a bird sing or the wind pass through the trees, let that be a challenge to worship God.
