“When a lion, the great beast, growls over his prey, and when the shepherds band together against him, the lion is neither terrified by their shouts nor disturbed by all the noise they make.
So will Yahweh, the Commander of Angel Armies, come down to fight for you on Mount Zion and on Zion’s hill! 5 Just as a bird hovers over its nest to protect its young, so will Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies, shield Jerusalem. He will protect her, deliver her, spare her, and rescue her!” Isaiah 31:4-5
The Devil knows us. He knows our power is not in human strength, or human ingenuity, or human bonds of love. We can join together in unity and still not be enough to overcome this spiritual foe.
But, if we gather together in Christ and place Him at the center and unify around Him, God takes on our battles and wins for us.
Mount Zion represents God’s presence, and Jerusalem represents the church, us, God’s people. We abide under the safety of God’s promise to protect us, deliver us, spare us, and rescue us.
Take a moment and step into this picture. What would it look like today to be protected, delivered, spared, and rescued by God? Where does Jesus particularly want to bring freedom in me today? That is the question we must ask and then embrace God’s answer with faith.
