01.18.23 – Isa. 10:27 Anointed

In that day the Lord will remove the heavy burden from your shoulders and break off the yoke of bondage from your necks because of the heavy anointing upon you! Isa. 10:27 TPT

This verse paints a wonderful picture of the power of God’s presence in us. Isaiah is reminding the Israelites who are tempted to run to Egypt for help against the threat from their neighbor Assyria. God is challenging them to trust Him instead.
God wants to fill their lives to such an extent nothing oppressive can rule over them. Neither Assyria nor Egypt are stronger than God’s anointing.

Anointing here represents the anointing oil poured upon the priests to designate them exclusively to God.

In the New Testament the Apostle John tells us, But the wonderful anointing you have received from God is so much greater than their deception and now lives in you. 1 John 2:27a TPT

The Holy Spirit fulfills God’s promise to always be with us just as Jesus promised His disciples.
Isaiah pictures the presence of God so great that it breaks all oppression. A power greater than any type of spiritual, emotional, and physical bondage is within us.

Today, I want to focus on God’s presence through worship and gratitude. I want the presence of God to be greater than anything that tries to manipulate or control me.
